justification for the flyer based on the fallacy of standard English.

There (and my) belief about the fluidity of language within varied contexts and imbued with issues of identity, power, and positioning, is exactly why they feel the flier is accurate.

So, no, there's no straw man when I'm arguing their exact point.

You either don't understand their position on language (likely) or you didn't take the time to read the article (also possible). Or, maybe you don't understand "strawman" arguments.
