I'm trying to figure a postgame KA quote

Saturday after the game KA was on the radio and was quoted as saying (paraphrased):
"In terms of preperation and how focused we were before the game I thought it was about the worst I've seen here. We weren't very prepared, not very focused at all before the game this morning."
I'm trying to figure out how exactly KA was completely off in assessing his team's readiness to play; he thought they were the least ready he's seen....and yet they had the best (in terms of opponent and scoring margin) win this season.
Anybody have any insights here?
