ask you simply, are you for the practice of closed shops?
You claim to be for individual rights and contracts. Closed shops interfere in both of those things. A third party is forcing themselves into what should be a two party contract.
If an employer prefers union workers there is nothing stopping him from hiring them. He just cannot make it a requirement.
