If they try to fix Obamacare much of what is wrong with it will still be there.
The parts that people claim to like also happen to be the parts that are driving cost through the roof. You cannot fix Obamacare and still keep them in place.
Preexisting condition coverage is a deal breaker for insurance companies. We would not expect our auto or home coverage to cover a preexisting condition, why do we expect health insurance to?
What this country needs to do is break up health care into basic preventative and minor care that is pay as you go and a separate catastrophic care for serious cases and emergencies.
I had a ten minute consultation this summer when I pulled a back muscle that cost over $300. There were no test or x-rays involved. Just a simple sit down with he doc where she asked me a couple of questions and prodded my back a couple of times. There is no way that should be $300. I paid them over $1500/hr for that service.
