that the kids he recruited as a DII coach were often kids who were down to their last chance. Talented guys who have ****ed away other opportunities and have one last chance to get it right may be more receptive to Kim's style than a kid who can just transfer and play somewhere else or for whatever reason doesn't feel that urgency.

Some coaches can recruit guys who are naturally that way. Or they coach in such a way that it brings out that attitude. Mike Anderson comes to mind. Kim, however, seems like the antithesis of that.
