1) Corporate blocks of tickets own many of the seats.
2) I think they hold back some sales for promotional use, then the held tickets NEVER go on sale.
The issue of not being able to buy a ticket midcourt, nor move down when people no show is horrible. I can only assume the management tells the ushers to be tough on checking tickets. Though I respect them looking out for our bigger donors, I don't see the purpose of being so strict. A season like this one they should be in preservation mode. Do what you can to retain anyone who shows up for a game, and try to get non STH to come back for more games. Most people would respect the original seat owner anyway if they showed up a little late.
