Why? Explain why any D1 school would give up #2 sport?

That makes no sense. Even the old SEC Football guard programs are starting to put more in to it. No way any rational person truly believes the university has made a concbious effort to 'give up' on BB. Alden was a terrible evaluator of BB coaches and he was affraid of another Synder debacle.....so he became a coward with his hires. I think Anderson being as pathetic as he has been will actually help Sterk because there is no one that wants to continue to be as embarrassed as every is at the product on the court. They see what 'being cheap' gets you. I'm not saying they will go $5mm like some say, but they will go after a up coming guy and pay what they need to fet the guy Sterk identifies.
