Adidas was the initial catalyst that brought Howland to Starkville. His ties to Adidas and their camp system is long and well established. MSU is a major Adidas school. MSU had the Rick Ray train wreck to recover from and Howland felt he can win there but it was the Adidas connection that precipitated the connection.
