types of teams, though.

At LSU, top 25 classes aren't good enough. They want top 5. And to do that, you have to compete against Alabama and other elite programs. Someone who consistently finishes second to Alabama in recruiting is a failure at LSU. But failing to outrecruit Alabama isn't an issue here because we'll rarely have a chance on those players anyway.

What we need is someone who can outrecruit Illinois and ksu and Nebraska. Someone who can consistently get the recruits LSU and UT and OU don't go after that hard. We were able to do that under Pinkel at times, and it produced some of our best teams ever.
