had shot .22 rifle and 20 ga shotgun before.

The sad thing is the .22 rifles at Boy Scout camp were so used the rifling was about shot out of the barrels. Made it hard to be consistent.

My .22 rifles were much better and that .22 Ruger is a fine piece of hardware. Wish now I'd got the heavy barrel version back when I bought it 35 years ago.
