we're stumbling upon what has been a 'game over' situation that then turns (at least for the moment) into a 'game on' situation.
Of course, if everyone with a clue is killed, and the cover-up is re-established, then we drop back to 'game over.'
5,000 or 10,000 or 50,000 people standing together in total certainty as to what is going on, willing to keep pulling the strings, would undo them though.
They desperately need incredulity and secrecy to stay in control.
