"I believe the US govt is irresponsible if it doesn't leverage its buying power to achieve desirable outcomes for taxpayers. Debate if this is desirable fiscally for US citizens, that's fair, but philosophically, I expect the US govt to act on my behalf - or on behalf of its citizens OVER those of Mexico."

This is the overarching problem with everything here. This is where the government is improperly influencing a company to possibly manufacture HVAC units at a higher cost... a cost which is experienced downstream by everyone else in the economy.

That is the point of my article below.
