As to the "other" part of the story, i've addressed it 5 times:
I believe the US govt is irresponsible if it doesn't leverage its buying power to achieve desirable outcomes for taxpayers. Debate if this is desirable fiscally for US citizens, that's fair, but philosophically, I expect the US govt to act on my behalf - or on behalf of its citizens OVER those of Mexico.
