Any promise of meaningful health care reform in this country

was destroyed the summer of Obama's first year in office.
It gets TIRESOME to have to restate this simple history lesson again and again.
The Hill was swarmed that summer by Insurance, Hospital and Pharm lobbyists guaranteeing every rep and every senator that if the term PUBLIC OPTION was as much as mentioned in the coming negotiations, that these reps and senators would be crushed by industry attacks the next election. The previous spring, remember, the public option WAS on the table. But after that summer warning to the legislature it was not heard from again.
The ACA got a few good things done.
Health Care Reform will NEVER work in this country if you as a citizen can opt out, ever.
You can't opt out of food safety funding or highway safety or pollution controls or defense or a myriad of other public functions. You can't opt out of Medicare.
Until the question changes, no reform is possible.
