Kemp is somewhere between 6'8 and 6'10
plays forward
grew a bunch last year or so
has good athleticism
growing into his body
he is not ready right now
there aren't minutes for him anyway
I was kind of wondering if this might be a kid who was always a guard and all of a sudden finds himself in a post body. But it sounds like he was still 6'3-6'5 as a frosh/soph in HS, so he's probably always been a forward.
It would be amazing, but if his past and skills are truly capable of the 3/SF, he could become a pretty big mismatch some day. The SF is really an oversized SG these days instead of a shorter PF. If he can defend the modern SF's, most of them can't guard his size.
Since teams rarely use all 13 spots, I am not opposed to taking a flyer on a kid like this, but it is tough when you really need a true big guy.
