not currently allowed to own an M-1 battle tank or an F-18 fighter but I see nothing in the second amendment restricting it.
At the time the document was written cannons and muskets were cutting edge military hardware and people were allowed to own them.
I do not believe current military hardware needs to be in civilian hands. But IMO we should have amended the constitution to specify what weapons were covered by the 2nd and which were not. If they can deny me a tank purchase why can't they deny a handgun purchase as well?
