investigations are being blocked by the justice department?

The FBI works for the people and it is their job to investigate crime not just the crime that the current administration finds to be politically expedient.

In a perfect world your above statements are absolutely correct. The DOJ refused to uphold their sworn duties, should the FBI agents involved just shrug their shoulders and say 'well, we tried. What else can we do?'
