But on your diversion, I would point out that there are a lot of factors that go into life expectancy besides medical care.
Additionally, there are about 20 US states that have close to the life expectancy as Canada. So, it's not all that different, depending on where you live.
Also, there is nothing bad, in its own right, about paying more than Canadians for medical care. In many ways, medical care spending is a luxury.
Finally, the US medical care system is about a stone's throw from single payer and about thousand miles from a free market, so any of your perceived failings of the current US system is far more attributable to central government intervention than not.
You think it is bad now? Wait until it is "Free".
