Seeing that medical care is essentially one local person rendering his services to another local person, why are you so intent on enacting your "single" payer vision on the national level? Why not the state level? Or the municipal level?

Why do you believe it is wise for something that happens at the local level to be channeled through a distant, central government who both handles the money and makes the rules?
