They spend more per pupil than the suburban schools and have a worse outcome.
If you'll recall, the KCMO school district became the beneficiary of a federal court order that lavished extra tax dollars from MO taxpayers. They built brand new schools and spent so much that they had new desktop computers going obsolete in unopened boxes. And as an award for all the spending they lost their accreditation. And they still don't have it back.
