A good coach can overcome a program in a bad place. Look at what coaches like Bruce Pearl, Ben Howland, Wayne Tinkel, and Buzz Williams were able to do at programs that were in bad shape. The coach is the most important factor in recruiting and it's not even close. Hell, look no further than SLU for proof of this. SLU has been terrible the last two years and as soon as they hire a good coach they are killing it in recruiting.
