ALL media on Sanders FROM DAY ONE had a mostly stated at times unstated message that this was a campaign not to be taken seriously, that this Sander's effort, vaunted as it may be, is in vain, he is a socialist. Bernie Sanders brought 27,000 people in Los Angeles !!! to an event in AUGUST !! unheard of and remained that way, the media was focused on half that amount showing up for Trump in PA.

This is VERY much the message sent during John Anderson's run in '80 v Reagan/Carter. Curiously Perot did not suffer the same fate, but Perot did not threaten power. Bernie Sanders did.
