when the adults (GOP establishment) tried to warn them of the warts of Trump. Everyone knew he was unfit for presidency. He lacked the temperament and has a history of making sexist and racist comments.

However, you had a core of Trump supporters (petulant children) who had a stubborn streak and wouldn't listen. They love how Trump spoke the language that should have stayed in the dining room table.

Of course, they will continue to be in denial and due to pride will cling to Trump's flagging campaign. It's sad, but that's the state of affairs today.
