decisions, use tourney success as your major criteria. Its not a good indicator of future success or long term competence.

Which goes back to my original point. 4 final fours in 8 years sounds great. Did you watch any of those teams play a single game or know anything about them? I didn't, which is why I made an incorrect initial assumption of competence that now direct observation indicates was not solidly grounded.
