I think many made an initial false assumption

I know I did. Of Kim's CMSU tenure, I watched the game they played against us at Mizzou Arena and their national championship game. That is really it from a direct observation perspective.

I felt that despite some known detriments and limitations, there were strengths in other areas that would offset those in the short term and Kim would come in prepared and leverage some of the inherited assets for some initial marginal success. I think most expected a slight tactical improvement over Haith, and a better quality of play and effort.

Here are the D2 statistical rankings in the various categories from Kim's national championship winning team. They are ok, but certainly don't scream 'well coached'.
