US remains ahead of its peers economically. They are still the dominant power militarily, too. While acknowledging the tough road faced by the shrinking middle class, this is a result of Americans not adjusting to the demands of a new economy. It's actually affected people across the world as technology has turned our world upside down.
For those that are baseball fans, recall when Bob Gibson had an ERA almost under 1 and Yaz winning the batting title with a batting average under .300. That's what the US is today. We are hitting a batting average that would be low based on historical standards, but still better than anyone else.
The question is which candidate will help address the skills gap. Trump has no clue and Clinton's policies are detailed but insufficient in addressing it.
