...though I can say that I'm a highland man, not the more peaty lowland varieties you like. I certainly appreciate those, but I always lean toward highland.
I really like Glendronach across the board, and once had one of their 18-year bottles which was incredible. And there's a store here in St. Louis that carries Signatory Vintage which is great, it seems, no matter what year or barrel.
A couple years ago I bought a 12-year Aberlour on a whim as a quick purchase for a Christmas party...knew absolutely nothing about it. Turns out it was one of the best I've had. Really enjoyed it and at the time I would have put it up against others which were older and pricier. I've bought it several times since.
Aside from that, I just love the basics like Oban and Dalmore, Glenlivet, etc.
