My sentimental favorite brand is Laphroaig. I just picked up a bottle of the Cairdeas 2016 this afternoon. When it comes down to it, the smokier and peatier, the better. I also picked up a bottle of the Lagavulin 8 year old that was released earlier this summer to celebrate their 200th anniversary. I also enjoy Ardbeg, which rounds out the Kildalton trio. I spent three nights on glorious Islay in some of the most beautiful maritime fall weather I've ever enjoyed.
When it comes down to it, I have never disliked any single malt; just liked some better than others.
