Unless & until you read a story quoting Michael Crowe expressing his view on ASU leaving the PAC 12, . . .. Crowe has been described in the Phoenix media as the "most powerful person in Arizona". He will decide what ASU does & while there is a great rivalry between ASU & U of A as well as Phoenix & Tucson, it is extremely unlikely that the U of A would leave the PAC 12 on its own.
Crowe's primary goal is to make ASU into a first class academic institution. He has made substantial strides in that effort. Being in the same conference as Stanford, Cal, UCLA, USC & Wash helps that effort. It would be highly surprising if he would opt to leave the PAC 12 over a few more $$$ for the ASU athletic department. This is also a significant factor for the U of A.
FWIW, ASU has demolished the North End Zone upper deck in Sun Devil
Stadium and replaced it with a "garden area" where fans can eat & drink during games. Stadium capacity has declined from about 70-71k to 55k.
