I don't know about being a "thug" but I've studied workplace fraud for over 25 years. In very general terms, 10% of people will never steal. 10% will steal anytime they are given an opportunity. 80% of people will steal under the right pressures/circumstances.

Example. You are in a job where you handle a lot of cash. Your kid is very sick and needs medical care you can't afford. You won't think about stealing to help your sick kid? Almost all people who steal start out thinking it is just a temporary thing and they'll put it back when they can.
