Maybe they'd be more willing to talk.

If the judicial system weren't bogged down with nonviolent offenders and the system for prosecutors and public defenders weren't underfunded, maybe deals wouldn't be cut.

If the prison system were actually set up with the intent of preventing crime and reducing recidivism, maybe we'd have fewer career criminals.

If we didn't have people like you who viewed things as a simplistic "us vs. them" war, maybe those things could happen.
