I'm sure people like you made the same arguments about slavery before the Civil War...

Votes on abortion issues can and do make a difference. We used to have some 1.6 million abortions per year. Over the years additional protections have been instituted, such as the "Born Alive Infants Protection Act", and abortions have dropped from 1.6 million+ in 1990 to a little under 1.1 million recently.

That may just be a statistic to you, but it is half a million innocent human beings per year being saved.
