What exactly is your definition of 'verbal abuse' and do you have any direct personal knowledge of what EE said to any player at any time that would fit your definition? He has already admitted to using f-bombs more than he should have. And having exchanges with certain players that they both wish had played out differently. And he has famously been known to honestly tell recruits and their parents that if they can't take an 'ass chewing' once in awhile then maybe they should consider playing for another coach at another school.
Verbal abuse is a loaded term. That covers a broad range of actions. I guarantee you if you lined up 100 persons they would all have a different definition of verbal abuse. Some markedly different. And the same 'ass chewing' that isn't a big deal to one player could be taken to be more hurtful and harmful by a different, more sensitive player. Is one situation 'verbal abuse' and the other not? I honestly don't know. But you ought to be careful about throwing around such a loaded, perjorative phrase so carelessly. Whether you have personal knowledge of the softball situation or not.
