Pat was well liked by Gary Pinkel. His involvement the protests should definitely have been cleared with the head coach before he took any action. My guess is Ivey had a better handle on what the players were talking about at the time, than Pinkel.

Odom's decision to not retain him may have had more to do with a lack of discipline in the weight room. He was too easy on them in the weight room and there has been a bit of a culture shock with the new coach training them harder and expecting more.
