If the coach they signed up to play for is fired, they could ask for a release (and I believe several of them would), and I can't imagine Mizzou not granting that release; we have never ever played hardball in that kind of situation before with a kid who just doesn't want to be here. Actually I'll amend that - if Mack was still here I think he absolutely would have denied releases, out of contempt and spite and a total lack of concern or respect towards the softball team who basically called him out and humiliated him and called him incompetent.

The bigger issue now on potential releases is the timing; the longer the conclusion of the investigation drags on the worse the hardship will be personally, academically, and athletically on the girls themselves.
