It's getting pretty close. Technically I think there is time to leave Mizzou and enroll at another school, but the choices are limited, they may or may not get a release from Mizzou (I think they probably would - no history I know of Mizzou blocking transfers), but another obstacle is other teams may have already promised all their scholarship money, and they wouldn't get any help there.
Then there is the disruption of leaving a school you have been attending or are about to attend (for the freshmen).
If EE had been fired in May, I believe there would have been significant defections from the highly touted freshman class, and some of the current players who love EE, who would have still had time to secure a spot at another top 20 program. Now they are between a rock and a hard place if he is not retained.
The girls are getting screwed over, again, by the investigation dragging on so long.
