The media will want you to believe it's over nothing. Take Michael Brown for example. We were originally led to believe he was just an unarmed gentle giant who was running from Officer Wilson with his hands up.

Then you had the video of the strong-armed robbery.
Then you had testimony that he attacked Officer Wilson in his cruiser and tried to take his gun.
Then you had the forensic evidence come out showing that he wasn't shot in the back at all like his homie said, and supported Officer Wilson's testimony that Gentle Giant rushed back at him after Gentle Giant had tried to kill him once.

I'm not going to say it's NEVER "over nothing". But it would be VERY VERY rare that that is the case.
