kids get shot opening their front door because they're holding a video game remote? That has happened.

It's a point that can't be argued -- untrained civilians are expected to remain calm under duress, under the aggression of a police officer. Yet police officers are absolved from their panicked behavior when they're the ones who are supposed to remain calm and professional.

You are trying to hard to protect something you believe in.
