Recruiting state hard, and getting second and third tier guys out of the south, whether it be TX, Fl, LA, or GA. This was Pinkel's strategy, and somehow he got it to work. Now we have a new coach who appears to be trying to recruit larger fish, going head to head with prominent programs. Odom was DC at Memphis so he knows high schools all across the south. It's to early to say it's going bad. Odom is recruiting against SEC foes, a terrible year last year, and social unrest. He needs a strong year with some good wins, and then he will be fine. It's not the SEC's fault. We have more access to good players than ever before because we are in this conference. We have already won the East twice, WTF are you talking about? We lost Hayes, and we have five verbals. It's July! FWIW mistakes were made by Pinkel in recruiting; never should have left TX, and he should have used the SEC in norther areas to attract good players who want to play in the best conference. My concerns with Odom lie not with recruiting, but on the field as he is a first year coach, and this year is so important I hope he doesn't lose a few games early and then the season spirals. Just my thoughts.
