Easier to recruit students and athletes from Texas (where a lot of our alums live) and since Mizzou doesn't win championships whether it is in the big 12 or SEC I would just as soon focus on striving for bragging rights in KC and play ku and kstate. It would also be better for KC and area economy. StL fans might miss out on road trips to Vandy and maybe Ole Miss when MU would actually play them...::but I expect Mizzou traveling to SEC east venues to steadily decline as newness, distance and interest wanes. SEC west traveling may hold up since playing those schools feels like a non conference game except Arky. sec hoops simply sucks compared to the b12 and MU baseball will be lucky to finish in the top half of the league almost every season. I don't necessarily hate the SEC but I wouldn't miss it.
