There are 200 minutes to be played in a game. 8 kids should play 190 of them on average. 195-200 in tight games and 180-185 in blowouts.
PG - 30
Backup PG - 10
2 Wings - 25 each
1 Backup - 25
2 Posts - 25 each
1 Backup - 25
That is 190 minutes, leaving 10 minutes to split between a 4th wing and a 4th Post.
Until proven otherwise, Philips is our starring PG and if he can stay out of foul trouble should play 30 minutes per game. I'm not saying he can't be beaten out, but that we should not be predicting it in July. That leaves 10 minutes for Geist of Hughes at PG.
We have one legit Wing right now that we can remotely say we know what we've got, and that is Walton. He'll start. That leaves CVL, Barnett, Jackson as wings competing for the other two rotation spots. Geist and Hughes can supposedly play here as well. One or two of these guys should basically never play or not play in a lot of games rotating with another for the DNP.
We have 5 guys in the post and I think the only two sure to get notable minutes are Puryear and Smith. I would say Kemp is the least likely to play, but who the hell knows. Again, should be a 3-man rotation with a 4th getting a few minutes in an average game, and 1 guy pretty much never playing. If it turns out that 4 guys are all pretty equal, there can be some benefits to going with a 4-man rotation at 20 minutes each. But that's not really ideal. Depending on how we look and want to line up, I guess Barnett could get into this rotation, but that's not ideal.
