Number one: Paige Lowary owes you and Mizzou absolutely nothing. She always gave 100% in the circle, made good choices off the field, and now she's deciding to play for a different school. She didn't turn on her team, she simply decided to play somewhere else. I guess you don't like Cat Lee, Sami Fagan, Cheyenne Baxter, or Chloe Rathburn. After all, aren't they all quitters to their former schools? It's honestly unfathomable that you would attack a college student for deciding to continue her education and career somewhere besides your favorite school.
Number two: You don't know a single thing about Lowary or her upbringing.
Number three: She pitched poorly in her first and last innings of the Michigan series. Given her strong performance the weekend before, and for every single other inning in Ann Arbor, there's absolutely nothing to suggest that she gave anything less than her all.
Number four: Wanting to escape an abusive environment (real or perceived) is not "petty personal preferences." This is a larger societal problem overall--when women are in such situations, people teach them that they just need to "man up," "stop being a girl," and be strong and take it. When really, the real strength is recognizing when you're in a situation that's not conducive to your growth (as a softball player, person, whatever) and being able to make a decision to stand up for yourself and do what's best for you.
(And before you interpret that last line as her being selfish: remember, she owes absolutely nothing to you or Mizzou beyond playing hard and being a good representative of the university in her time here.)
