Though we expect his performances to be workmanlike and even routinely uninspiring, they do represent the least risky for the program overall. Pribula is not likely to develop into an NFL-caliber talent, though his efforts will be the most reliable of any in the QB room at this time.
While Horn can show flashes of NFL-level execution, his now officially declared intention to pursue professional baseball and the one-year limit on his services mean that significant time should not be invested in his development.
The implications for Zollers are profound.
We recommend placing him into the backup spot as soon as possible, exhausting all available resources on his development at the expense of Horn when necessary.
Zollers now represents the greatest potential for NFL-caliber play and a greater contribution to the program long-term in comparison to the remainder of the QB room.
The shortest path to reaching those potentials exist in actual game minutes.
Those minutes have not existed for previous backup quarterbacks in recent years and we hope that our head coach can substantially depart from this tendency in favor of Zollers accelerated development.
