Why not use a 2 year time span?

Over the last two years, Drink has won 10.5 games. Why randomly choose a longer time period? The wins a college football team will have in a given year doesn't lend itself very well to a historical statistical analysis. It's not like flipping a coin or rolling a pair of dice. There are just too many factors that can affect the number of wins over a season.
