about that. I was expecting there to be some connection to the Little Dixie Conservation Area in Callaway County.

I can't find anything how that Area was named, but there has to be some connection there.

Edit: Found it! There is an absolute connection. "The settlers' strong cultural and political ties with the south resulted in the name of Little Dixie."
