Plus 4 nights in a hotel, plus 3-4 meals per day, plus ground transportation, plus tournament entry fee, probably adds up to $1500-2000 per head. Multiply that times 25 players, plus four coaches and a half dozen or so support staff. Lot of money when your operating budget got cut so they could pay the players revenue sharing. This was purely a cost-driven decision.
