Intentionally doing evil to prevent other evil is wrong, even if the prevented evil is deemed to be greater than the evil committed.

The ends justify the means was indeed a communist moral principle. Even if some US & Israeli leaders use that same justification for committing evil, that doesn't change the fact that it was a communist moral principle.
