" historical records indicate that major floods have occurred in 1838, 1848, 1868, 1872, 1906, 1921, 1936, 1952, 1972, 1973, 1978, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1997, 1998, 2015, 2018, 2020, 2021, and most recently in July 2025". With that record, the wisdom of placing children so near it must be questioned. Especially since the growth/paving of New Braunfels, Austin, and San Antonio surely contribute to the speed that the basins fill.
