Headed to Notre Dame from about 6th grade on, as he was in a big catholic family. Freeman is an excellent recruiter, and Mizzou offered him woefully late, after half the perennial top 25 did.
Dierre Hill, out of Bellville, was a straight money bag drop from Oregon. As in, a couple of hundred thousand dollars difference. He might be back...someday.
Dezephen Walker, of Ray-Pec, never seemed to into Mizzou. In fact, there have been several Power 4 kids from there that Mizzou has missed on, for whatever reason. Ou was kinda late to his recruitment, as most thought it was between ku & the Nubs, after ND backed off. My belief remains, he wanted more than Mizzou from a while back.
Scheme and usage affects all recruits in some ways. For the life of me, any decent TE recruit should avoid us, based on our offense the last 3 years. Maybe that changed with Beau, we'll see. And Notre Dame has a rotation that keeps carries low, to preserve long term health, supposedly.
In any case, I still think it is fit, the right school, coach, and the money 💰 $$$. We have had 2 backs lead the SEC in rushing and carries in the last 4 years. The right guy, will find us, if we keep doing that.
