The living constitution idea is merely a circumvention of a republican form of government.
It is problematic that law schools pump out attorneys who have deficiencies in where the authority for law comes from. It would help if law schools actually teach the Constitution. Oh, they think they do. They teach the Constitution as it has been interpreted by cases over a couple centuries. They DON'T teach it as it was designed, debated, and ratified (originalism). This is more than a mere history lesson, but necessary to learn the principles that this document of principles, the greatest government charter in the history of man, provided to the world in creating the greatest nation in the history of man. Forgetting those principles are why we are in danger of losing our greatness.
